On Oct. 21, 2018 at approximately 1151 PM, Simi Valley Police Officer Wilkinson observed a vehicle that appeared to be attempting to evade him as he patrolled the area of Tapo St. and Cochran St. As he followed the vehicle, it made several evasive maneuvers, but eventually stopped next to the gas pumps at the Shell Gas station located at 2390 Tapo St. Officer Wilkinson exited his vehicle and made contact with both subjects. They were identified as Yuliana Olivos (10-22-97) and Hector Vasquez ( 11-12-87). During the contact it was learned that Vasquez was on active parole. The investigation and subsequent search revealed the following: Both Olivos and Vasquez were found to be in possession of loaded, semi-automatic handguns. Both were also found to be in possession of a significant quantity of methamphetamine. At the conclusion of the investigation, Olivos was arrested and charged with 11379 HS, Sales / Transportation of narcotics, 11370.1 HS, Possession of narcotics while possessing a firearm and 25400 PC, Possession of a concealed firearm. Vasquez was arrested and charged with, 11379 HS, Sales / Transportation of narcotics, 11370.1 HS, Possession of narcotics while possessing a firearm, 29800 (a) PC, Felon in possession of a firearm and 3056 BP, Violation of parole. Both were booked at the Ventura County Main Jail.
