Deputies arrest a convicted felon and documented gang member for possession of narcotics while armed

INCIDENT: Possession of Narcotics While Armed
LOCATION: Ceres Avenue & Heather Avenue, Fontana
SUSPECT: Robert Arteaga, 35 years of age resident of Fontana
SUMMARY:
On Monday, October 15, 2018, at approximately 3:21 AM, a deputy from the Fontana Sheriff's Station was conducting patrol in his assigned area. The deputy noticed a parked occupied Gold Buick with the driver inside surrounded by several subjects on the exterior of the vehicle. As the deputy drove up to the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Robert Arteaga, exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away and hide from the deputy.
Arteaga was detained and discovered to be in possession of a stolen loaded .22 caliber revolver, cash, a digital scale and a large amount of narcotics. Arteaga was arrested and transported to the Central Detention Center, where he was booked without further incident. Arteaga is a documented gang member, who is a convicted felon.
