GTPD Media Advisory: Saturday Afternoon Fire Affects Two Residences, 5 People Displaced.
On Saturday October 20th at approximately 12:14PM the Gloucester Township Police Department and Local Fire Departments were dispatched to 21 Del Sol Place for a fire in the rear of the residence. Upon arrival of responding units, fire and smoke were observed coming from the residence. All residents were safely evacuated prior to emergency services arrival. Firefighters from Lambs Terrace(Station 85), Glendora(Station 81), Chews Landing(Station 82), Blackwood(Station 84), Pine Hill(Station 62) and Washington Township(Station 10-1) fought the fire and were able to place it under control. There was one reported minor injury to a firefighter from Pine Hill. Unfortunately, there were 5 residents displaced due to the damage to the home and the adjoining home. The American Red Cross is on location providing assitance to the residents. The cause of fire is under investigation but it is believed to be accidental. |
