UPDATE: Today at 11:44 am Officers from The Janesville Police Department responded to a traffic crash at Milton Avenue and Refset Drive. Arriving officers found two vehicles involved in the crash. Officers immediately began to stabilize the scene and check on the occupants of the vehicles.

Officers found two people in the Chevy Cruze and one person in the Cadillac. Officers from The Janesville Police Department and staff from The Janesville Fire Department rendered aid at the scene. Officer Steve Carpenter responded to reconstruct the scene due to the nature of the injuries being reported.

The traffic crash resulted in the death of a 74 year old female. The accident is still under investigation. Officers are investigating all options related to the crash, including the speed of the vehicles, distracted driving and rules of the road.

The name of the deceased is not being released, to allow the family ample time to make notifications. Additional updates will be released as the investigation is completed.

UPDATE: All northbound lanes on Milton Ave are now open.

The Janesville Police Department is currently investigating an injury traffic crash on Milton Ave at Refset Dr. Northbound traffic on Milton Ave is currently down to 1 lane.
