The Central Marin Police Authority has received information from local law enforcement partners about an alarming phone scam. Parents from within Marin County have received calls from unidentified telephone numbers, reporting their child has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. During the phone call, a child is reportedly heard in the background crying.

Please be aware that this appears to be a telephone scam. Should you receive a similar phone call, please report this to the Central Marin Police Authority immediately and do not agree to make any payment.
