10/09 - 6:57 p.m. - Police stopped a vehicle at South Jefferson Street & White Street, due to an equipment violation. An investigation lead to an arrest of the driver. The St. Clair County State's Attorney's Office charged the subject, Dustin A. Castillo, age 25 of Red Bud, with the following:
Count 1: Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (had in his possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin). A Class 4 Criminal Felony, Category B Offense.
Count 2: Unlawful Use of Weapon (had in his possession a throwing star). A Class A Misdemeanor, Category B Offense.
His bond was set at $20,000.
