INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 10000 block of Green Canyon Drive

SUSPECT: Dashawn Blanks, 24-years-old, Resident of Los Angeles

SUMMARY:

On Friday, October 12, 2018, at 3:06 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a suspicious person call in the 10000 block of Green Canyon Drive call. An unknown male subject had reportedly exited a back yard of a residence and was seen going through mailboxes in the neighborhood.

Upon Deputy Garcia-Chavez’ arrival, a male subject exited the residence from the front door and walked in the direction of his vehicle parked in front of the residence. The subject was putting objects into a red and black bag while he was walking. As the deputy approached the subject, he dropped the bag and fled on foot.

California Highway Patrol’s Aviation assisted, and the subject was found hiding in the back yard of a residence on the 7000 block of Sunnyside Place. The subject was identified as Dashawn Blanks, he was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for burglary. Deputies recovered the stolen items from the Green Canyon Drive residence.

Through further investigation, deputies learned a second residence on the 10000 block of Lima Drive had been burglarized by Blanks the same day. Blanks bail was enhanced and is set at $150,000.00.
