SCE monitoring Malibu for possible Public Safety Power Shutoff
Southern California Edison (SCE) notified the City that it is monitoring conditions and may implement its Power Safety Shutoff Program (PSPS) in Malibu due to current high winds. There are currently power outages in certain neighborhoods of Malibu due to wind conditions, not a planned shutoff.
The City is in contact with all partner agencies to coordinate preparations for possible power outages. The City will put out further alerts as soon as more information is available. Residents should be prepared for possible power outages.
As part of its PSPS program, SCE will notify customers on the affected circuits directly to inform them about the potential shutoff. The public can call SCE at 800-611-1911 with any questions.
