Important Traffic, Parking & Lane Closure Information for Today's Formula Drift Race at the Irwindale Speedway

The Irwindale Speedway, located at 500 Speedway Drive in the city of Irwindale, will host the 2018 Formula Drift "Final Fight" Championship Race today beginning at noon.

Gates open to the public at 12:00 P.M. and racing will take place rain or shine beginning at 2:00 P.M.

It is expected that this exciting, high-energy racing event will bring thousands of drift racing fans to the Irwindale Speedway. Parking at the racetrack fills quickly and fans are encouraged to arrive early and to rideshare whenever possible.

Entrance to the Irwindale Speedway parking lot can only be made by traveling eastbound on Live Oak Avenue to the main entry gate at Speedway Drive. There will be no access into the parking lot from the westbound lanes of Live Oak Avenue.

Once the Irwindale Speedway's main parking lot is full, satellite parking will be available in 4900 Block of Commerce Drive (Commerce Drive, east of Rivergrade Road). Signage will be posted directing patrons to the satellite parking lot and shuttle buses will be available to transport fans to the ticket booths at the event center.

Street parking is not authorized on the public streets surrounding the Irwindale Speedway and tow-away restrictions are in place on the north side of Live Oak Avenue between Stewart Avenue and Graham Road and on the south side of Live Oak Avenue between Graham Road and Rivergrade Road. All parking and tow-away restrictions will be strictly enforced by the Irwindale Police Department.

There will also be periodic lane closures in the area of Live Oak Avenue between the 605 Freeway and Arrow Highway, Live Oak Avenue at Speedway Drive and the left turn lanes from westbound Arrow Highway at Live Oak Avenue, as well as increased traffic on Arrow Highway, Live Oak Avenue, Graham Road and Live Oak Lane during peak race times.

All parking restrictions, lane closures and tow-away zones will be in effect until approximately midnight tonight.

Residents, businesses and visitors in the area can expect increased traffic flow issues in the area surrounding the Irwindale Speedway this afternoon and evening. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time to travel through this area, using alternative routes as possible.

Race fans are encouraged to arrive early, allow extra time for entry and parking, and to consider carpooling, ridesharing or the use public transportation.

The following items are not allowed inside the Irwindale Speedway:

• Alcoholic Beverages
• Illegal Substances
• Skates/Rollerblades/Bicycles/Tricycles/Skateboards
• Ladders/Stepstools
• Ice Chests larger than 12x12x12
• Guns/Knives/Mace/Stun Guns
• Pets/Animals (excluding service animals)
• Glass Bottles/Cans
• Hoverboards
• Drones/RC Aircraft
• Fireworks
• Fire Pits
