October 1st:

Shoplifting - Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1605 hours, while conducting a security check, an officer observed security trying to detain a 32-year-old woman from Oakland for theft. The subject was placed under citizen’s arrest, booked and released on a citation.

Warrant & False Personation – Carlson Blvd / San Mateo Ave:
At 2241 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 38-year-old Richmond man on a warrant. The man initially provided his cousin’s name to conceal a warrant. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant – Liberty St / Fairmount Ave:
At 0220 hours, an officer contacted a 27-year-old man from San Francisco during a pedestrian stop. The man was wanted on a Contra Costa County warrant stemming from a 2018 ECPD arrest. He was arrested and released on a citation.

October 2nd:

Warrant Arrest – Luckys 1000 EC Plaza:
At 0719 hours, a 57-year-old Richmond man flagged down an officer to check to see if he had a warrant. He was dismayed that he had two warrants. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD and released on a citation.

Felon in possession of a firearm – CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 0807 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting that just occurred. The suspect, later identified as a twenty-six-year-old Richmond woman, fled in a silver BMW but was located on San Pablo Ave. by responding officers. The officer keenly spotted the driver, a 56-year-old Richmond man, throw a loaded revolver out the window of the BMW. He was arrested for a felon in possession of a firearm and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The shoplifter was released with a citation.

Residential Burglary 8700 block of Don Carol Dr:
At 1216 hours, officers responded to the report of two females running out of the side yard of a residence with the alarm sounding. Officers arrived on scene and discovered a broken window to the residence.

Auto Burglary: 6500 block of Stockton Ave:
At 1618 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger side window of a Toyota and ransacked the interior but didn’t steal anything.

Auto Burglary – CVS, 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
Between 1800 and 1815 hours, an unknown suspect broke the front driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack containing a laptop.

Shoplifting, False Name to Officer – Joann’s, 300 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1848 hours, a witness reported three juveniles stole spray paint from Joann’s and were painting the storm drain tunnel adjacent to the BART Path. A 14-year-old male from El Cerrito and a 13-year-old male from Berkeley were detained. Both initially lied about their names, but their parents confirmed their true names. Both juveniles were released to their parents in the field.

Domestic Violence – 7100 block B Street:
At 1936 hours, officers responded to a battery. A 30-year-old female from El Cerrito and her former live-in boyfriend got into an argument which turned physical. The female scratched and hit the victim causing visible injury to his face. The female fled prior to the arrival of officers.

October 3rd

Driving under the influence of a controlled substance - San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Lane:
At 0710 hours, officers responded to report of a two-car collision with injuries. The driver of a Honda, a 28-year-old Richmond man, was driving at a high rate of speed on San Pablo Ave. He was determined to be under the influence of cocaine. He was transported to Richmond Kaiser for excited delirium concerns, and injuries from the collision. The elderly driver of the other vehicle was shaken up but not injured and was given a ride home by an officer.

Brandishing a knife / Warrant Arrest: 1700 block of Liberty St
At 0855 hours, an officer responded to the report of a 34-year-old male brandishing a knife at the victim inside their apartment. The suspect was contacted outside the apartment as officers arrived. He provided a false name; however, officers quickly established his true identity and his outstanding fraud warrant. The victim, also a 34-year-old male, had three warrants for his arrest. Both were arrested and booked.

Shoplifter – CVS, 670 EC Plaza:
At 1043 hours, an officer responded to the report of a shoplifting in progress. Officers learned from store personnel that an unknown suspect wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants took numerous items and fled towards Ross.

Shoplifting, Resisting Arrest, Methamphetamine Possession, Fleeing an officer: CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave:
At 1115 hours, officers responded to the report of a shoplifting in progress. As an officer arrived, he was directed to the suspect vehicle fleeing the parking lot. He attempted a stop on the vehicle which pulled into the Marshalls lot. The suspect in the theft, a 35-year-old Oakland man, jumped out of the vehicle. Officers were able to take the man in custody after a brief struggle. The getaway vehicle was located several blocks away by responding units. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 34-year-old man from Richmond, for driving on a suspended license. Also arrested was a 32-year-old passenger who had a warrant for her arrest.

Vandalism – 900 block Avis Drive:
At 1930 hours, the victim heard a pop and found two windows of his vehicle were broken. It was determined an unknown suspect broke the two windows with a BB gun.

Vandalism – 5500 block Zara Ave:
At 2134 hours, an unknown suspect drove by the victim’s vehicle and shot out a window with a BB gun.

Elder Abuse – 8800 block Terrance Drive:
At 2206 hours, officers responded to a battery. A 24-year-old male from El Cerrito and his 66-year-old father got into an argument regarding household chores. The suspect struck his father in the side of the head with a closed fist causing visible injury. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Domestic Violence, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Escape – 800 block Everett St:
At 2303 hours, a 49-year-old man from El Cerrito and his live-in girlfriend got into an argument which turned physical. The man struck and choked the victim causing her to start to lose consciousness. He was arrested and transported to the ECPD. When the officer started to open the car door, the man forced the door open and fled on foot. A short foot pursuit ensued and the man was apprehended.

Arson - 11700 block San Pablo Ave:
At 0405 hours, ECFD responded to the report of a smoke alarm in the west stairwell. An unidentified suspect set fire to the stairwell flooring.

October 4th:

Robbery – Lucky, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2210 hours, an unknown suspect stole food and was confronted by security. The suspect exited, bumped chests with the security officer and attempted to punch him. Once outside of the store, the suspect threw the food at the security guard and fled.

Possess Controlled Substance – S. 59th Street / Orchard Ave:
At 2322 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 33-year-old female for possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released on a citatio
