Cal City man arrested after violent attack on estranged wife 
A Cal City woman is recovering today after being attacked by estranged boyfriend. Officers responded to a Cal City home near South Cal City Blvd after receiving a partial 9-1-1 call around 3:45 PM of a woman screaming for help.
Officers located the victim who was treated by Cal City Fire Paramedics for non life threatening injuries.
The victim was able to explain to officers that her former boyfriend kicked open the front door of her home and started to attack her. She attempted to run away but the boyfriend tackled her in the desert area nearher home. She tried to call 9-1-1 for help but the boyfriend broke the phone to prevent her for calling for help. The suspect fled in a 2012 black Audi.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Cal city Blvd but the suspect failed to stop.The driver eventually drove into the parking lot of City Hall where he was taken into custody.
The suspect, identified as 35 year-old Sam Scopetta was arrested. He is charged with burglary, false imprisonment, interfering with a 911 call, and domestic violence. He was also arrested for an outstanding domestic violence warrant issued earlier this year.
