Brush Collection Update, 10/4/18 The Township completed the final round of Brush Collection for all Zones except Zone 1.

Residents in Zone 1 who have brush and tree parts should place the material within the right-of-way in front of their homes. Township Ordinance states brush should not be placed at the curb more than ten days prior to a scheduled collection. Brush piles should be placed neatly out of the roadway and out of the lane of travel. Brush piles should not restrict visibility or impede traffic in any way.

Material should only contain vegetative debris and be free of all lumber, fence posts, and other wooden objects. Material should not be placed near mailboxes, fire hydrants, or utility boxes. Branches and limbs should be cut in lengths no longer than eight (8) feet. Material larger than eight (8) inches in diameter and tree stumps cannot be collected.

Residents who have brush to dispose of in all other areas may also bring their material to the DPW yard any Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 2 pm. The yard is also open regularly on the third Saturday of each month from 8 am to 1 pm. Saturday hours for the remainder of the year are:

October 13th

October 20th

November 17th

December 15th

Please note that residents who have placed brush in the right-of-way outside of collection times can and will be cited for violation of Township Ordinance. Additional Brush Collection information can be found on our website at www.medfordtownship.com.

Once Zone 1 is complete, there will be no additional collections in 2018. Brush Collection dates for 2019 will be distributed in January 2019. If you have any questions, please call the Neighborhood Services office at 609-654-6791, extensions 316 and 322. We appreciate your patience and consideration.

Leaf Collection Update

The Township will begin Leaf Collection operations on Monday, October 29th. Leaves will be collected based on the following schedule:

Zone 4: Weeks of October 29 and November 26

Zone 1: Weeks of November 5 and December 3

Zone 2: Weeks of November 5 and December 3

Zone 3: Weeks of November 12 and December 10

Zone 5: Weeks of November 19 and December 17

Placement of leaves at the curb or along the street at any other time or in any other manner is a violation of Township Ordinance 82. Any leaves placed curbside outside of the times specified by the Township will be the responsibility of the homeowner to have removed. Sweeping, raking, blowing or otherwise placing leaves at the curb is only permitted seven (7) days prior to a scheduled collection. Leaf piles should be placed no further than ten (10) feet from the edge of the roadway. Collection vehicles will not leave the roadway to collect piles of leaves.

Leaves should be placed at least ten (10) feet from storm drains. Leaves should be kept at least one foot from the curb to allow runoff from rain to flow freely. Please do not park vehicles close to piles. Leaves placed curbside that do not meet the strict guidelines above will not be collected. Leaves placed at the street by professional landscapers, contractors, or anyone hired by a homeowner, must be removed by them.

Township crews make every effort to adhere to the collection schedule above. However, inclement weather, breakdowns, or the volume of leaves in any given Zone may impact the Leaf Collection Schedule. We appreciate your patience and consideration.
