FEMA to TEST Emergency Alert System on Cell Phones Wednesday Morning
On Wednesday at 11:18AM, FEMA will conduct a nationwide TEST of the Wireless Emergency Alert System (WEA) and will send a message to all cellular phones in the United States.
The notifications will have a distinct, audible alert tone, the same as those used for AMBER alerts, tornado warnings and other emergencies. The message will read:
“THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
