Tomorrow at 11:18 AM local time the Federal Government will be testing the Wireless Emergency Alert system. If all goes as planned you will get an Amber Alert style warning on your cellular phones.
It is only a test and will state that it's only a test, you are not required to do anything. There is a 90 character limit so the message will be very brief. You cannot opt out of the alerts as it is a Federal law that all cellular phones with data plans must broadcast these Federal alerts. You do not have to sign up for these alerts.
We wanted you to be advised ahead of time so your aren't startled by your phones going off all at once.
