The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
* Flood Warning for... Southwestern McDowell County in western North Carolina... Western Rutherford County in western North Carolina... Northeastern Henderson County in western North Carolina... Southeastern Buncombe County in western North Carolina...
* Until 845 AM EDT.
* At 439 AM EDT, emergency management and stream gauges reported flooding along the headwaters of the Broad River in Buncombe, Henderson, and Rutherford Counties and along the headwaters of the Catawba River in McDowell County. While the heavy rainfall has tapered off, up to 6 inches of rain has fallen across this area since Saturday evening. Runoff from this heavy rain will result in continued elevated levels along these streams and their tributaries through around sunrise, although the streams are likely near their crest at this time. Small landslides will also likely continue, which could block or damage roads in the warning area.
