Criminal Activity Alert- Auto Theft & Burglaries- Chestnut Ridge Area- LOCK ALL VEHICLES- REMOVE ALL KEY FOB's 
Thursday morning at approximately 4:10AM a resident of Chestnut Ridge Road called 9-1-1 when they observed 2 burglars entering their unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. These actors used a garage door opener left in that vehicle to gain access to the garage portion of the residence. They were scared off by responding patrol units from multiple agencies. Later in the morning a neighbor reported that their vehicle had been stolen. Several surrounding jurisdictions had similar criminal activity during the same overnight shift.
Saddle River and many northern New Jersey jurisdictions have experienced high end auto thefts and auto burglaries. If everyone removes the keys and key FOB's from their vehicles these thefts will stop. Locking your vehicle when it's in the driveway prevents car burglaries from occurring and deters criminals from our area.
PLEASE lock your vehicles and remove the keys /FOBS !!!
