Flood Warning until 12:42PM Sunday

Potomac River at Shepherdstown affecting Washington...Berkeley and Jefferson Counties The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a

* Flood Warning for The Potomac River at Shepherdstown.

* From Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.

* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 11.9 feet and steady.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late Friday afternoon and crest near 18.2 feet by mid Saturday afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.

* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Water covers the pedestrian bridge adjacent to the Shepherdstown boat ramp. Significant portions of the C&O Canal towpath are flooded.

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.8 feet on May 20 2018.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV ... WASHINGTON, MD
