The Manhattan Beach Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project which is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Police Chiefs' Association and over 300 public safety agencies throughout the nation.  This project is designed to increase public awareness about breast cancer and to raise funds for the fight against this disease.
 
During the month of October, employees of the Manhattan Beach Police Department will be demonstrating their support of breast cancer awareness by wearing pink shoulder patches on their uniforms.  The pink patches are intended to stimulate conversation within the community and to raise public awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment in the fight against breast cancer.
 
Pink Patch t-shirts and challenge coins will be for sale starting Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the MBPD front desk, 420 15^th Street, Manhattan Beach. T-shirts and challenge coins will be $20 each (cash only).  You can also visit our booth at the Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair, Saturday and Sunday, October 6 & 7, 2018, to purchase t-shirts and challenge coins.  All proceeds will be donated to the Soroptimist International of Manhattan Beach to make breast cancer comfort bags for individuals battling breast cancer in the South Bay.
