Potomac River at Shepherdstown affecting Washington...Berkeley and Jefferson Counties The National Weather Service in Sterling Va has issued a

* Flood Warning for The Potomac River at Shepherdstown.

* From this afternoon until Thursday morning.

* At 10 AM Wednesday the stage was 14.5 feet and rising.

* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by early this afternoon and crest near 15.5 feet by early this evening. The river will fall below flood stage by overnight tonight.

* Impact...At 16.0 feet...Water goes over the banks of the Potomac near the mouth of the Opequon River. River Road is flooded in multiple spots near Shepherdstown.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BERKELEY, WV ... JEFFERSON, WV ... WASHINGTON, MD
