(Wallace, CA) Today on 9-24-18 at approx. 0705 hours a parent called CCSO Dispatch to report a suspicious person by their child’s school bus stop on Highway 12 near Wards Avenue in Wallace. The reporting party said that an older white male with a beard had knocked on the vehicle window, then laid down in front of the car before walking away on foot towards a building nearby. Deputies responded and began checking the area. Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot checking a building that is for sale near this location. The Deputies found the front door window had been shattered and there was a large rock on the ground nearby. A male subject, Robert Valtierra (age 56 from Stockton) was arrested from inside the building for Vandalism 594(b)(1)PC and Burglary 460PC. Valtierra matched the description given from the original caller as the subject acting strange near the bus stop. Valtierra was transported to the Calaveras County Jail and bail is still pending booking.
