Around 1412 hours, Berkeley PD received reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of Sacramento Street. Officers arrived on-scene and found a male in his 40's with gunshot wounds. Officers began providing first aid.  Berkeley Fire Department transported victim to the County Trauma Center to be treated for serious injuries. Berkeley Police Department is asking the community to contact the Homicide Unit with any information or video footage at 510-981-5741.  Additional officers will be added to provide extra patrols in the South Berkeley Area.
