HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – September 21, 2018 – On August 20, 2018, a theft occurred at the Hollister Safeway grocery store. A male and female are wanted for questioning.
On August 20, 2018 Officers were dispatched to the Safeway grocery store, located at 591 Tres Pinos Road. The store manager informed them, two suspects had just stolen several handbaskets full of items from the store.
Officer Melissa Castro arrived to investigate the incident. The store employee reported a female and a male had entered the store and filled several hand baskets full of expensive items from throughout the store.
Both suspects then left the store without paying. The store employee confronted them outside the business and asked them to return the stolen property. The two suspects ignored the store employee as they entered a car and drove away.
Officer Castro obtained store video footage and was able to extract still photos of the suspects. Over the following weeks after the theft, Officer Castro was able to track down the vehicle owner, determine who was driving it at the time and identify the male suspect as Armando Flores (32), a Hollister transient, but the pictured female remains unidentified.
The Hollister Police Department is asking for the public’s help with identifying the female suspect in this case. She is described as a white female adult, with long brown hair, approximately 40 to 50 years old, heavyset with what looks like a tattoo on her chest.
