DATE/TIME: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 / 11:30 am

INCIDENT: Commercial Burglary / Possession of Stolen Property

LOCATION: 13000 Block of Valley Boulevard

SUSPECT(S): Arturo Guzman, age 41 a resident of San Bernardino

VICTIM(S): Tire Distribution Center

SUMMARY: During the weekend of September 8, 2018, suspects entered a tire distribution center on Valley Boulevard in the unincorporated area of Fontana by cutting through a wrought iron fenceline. While the suspects were on the property, they forced entry into a secured storage shipment container and stole nearly 40 tires recently received from an overseas distributor.

On September 17, 2018, the reporting party noticed the storage container was compromised, and numerous tires were stolen. The reporting party immediately contacted the Sheriff's Department to report the incident, where patrol personnel conducted their preliminary investigation.

The following day, investigators from the Fontana Sheriff's Station Criminal Investigations/Multiple Enforcement Team initiated their investigation. Investigators learned similar tires were posted for sale online and executed a search warrant at the QuickStop Automotive and Tire Center in the 1000 Block of W. 21st in San Bernardino. During the search warrant, investigators recovered all property reported stolen during the burglary. The business was identified as selling the stolen tires.

As a result of this investigation, the owner of the Quick Stop, Arturo Guzman, 41, of San Bernardino, was arrested on Possession of Stolen Property. He was booked into West Valley Detention Center where his bail was set at $10,000.

Investigators have located several associated incidents and believe there are other unidentified victims as well.
