On September 17th, at about 10:25 pm, Simi Valley Police Officers responded to the area of Rincon Street and Daunet Avenue to investigate a shooting. When the officers arrived they contacted a 38-year-old Simi Valley resident, who was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the left forearm. It appears as though this incident occurred inside of a vehicle and could have been accidental. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she is being treated for this non-life threatening injury. Officers have cleared the scene; however, the investigation continues.
The victim’s name is not being released.
