INCIDENT: PC 69 - Felony Resisting Officer

LOCATION: 33500 block of Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa

SUSPECT(S): Eric Fox, age 55 a resident of Riverside

VICTIM(S): San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy

SUMMARY: On Monday, September 17th, at approximately 12:07 pm, deputies responded to the Verizon Store located at the above address regarding a belligerent customer inside the business. A deputy was in the immediate area and arrived on scene in approximately one minute and spoke with the customer, Eric Fox, outside the business.

At the request of the business, the deputy told Fox he was no allowed at the business and needed to leave. Fox refused and attempted to enter the business again. When the deputy tried to prevent him from doing so, Fox assaulted the deputy. After a fight that lasted approximately one minute, the deputy gained control of Fox and handcuffed him.

Both the deputy and Fox were injured during the incident. Fox sustained a facial laceration and bruising and the deputy sustained a broken right hand. Both were taken to area hospitals for medical treatment.

Fox will be booked into West Valley Detention Center at the conclusion of the investigation.

There were numerous witnesses to this incident and several people videotaped the fight between the deputy and Fox. Deputies were provided several videos and spoke to many witnesses.
