Flash Flood Warning until 03:00AM Monday

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Horry County in northeastern South Carolina...

* Until 300 AM EDT.

* At 1159 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Four to as much as 7 inches of rainfall has fallen across the area during the past 12 hours with another 1 to 2 inches possible before the storms lift north of the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Myrtle Beach, Conway, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Myrtle Beach Airport, Socastee, Red Hill, Little River, North Myrtle Beach Airport, Cherry Grove Inlet, Little River Entrance, Garden City, Tabor City, Loris, Hickory Grove, Homewood, Horry Georgetown Technical College Conway Campus, Adrian, Nixonville and Barefoot Landing Area Of North Myrtle Beach.

* AFFECTED AREAS: HORRY, SC

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. The water depth will be hard to determine and washed out or damaged roads may be difficult to identify. Avoid flooded areas or roads that have been closed. Keep a safe distance from the banks of swiftly moving streams, creeks, and ditches. If flash flooding is observed, turn around, don't drown. A Flash Flood Warning means that dangerous flooding is imminent or occurring. Residents within the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
