On 9/13/18 officers responded to Commissioners Park reference a vehicle window being smashed and a purse taken from a vehicle.  Another instance also occurred on 80th Ave near Lakeview.    No description of the offender or vehicle was provided.  Officers checked the area but did not locate anyone.
 
We also remind residents that the Chicagoland area continues to experience vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles especially during overnight hours from unlocked cars on streets and driveways.  In some cases, offenders are using garage door openers to access garages. 
 
Frankfort Police would like to remind residents to not leave valuables in their vehicle, or at a minimum, move them from plain view. Of course, you should NEVER leave your keys or key fobs in your car and always lock your doors. We ask that if you see something suspicious, anything out of the ordinary or hear anything, such as a car door shutting or a dog barking at an unusual time, call Frankfort Police Department immediately at 911 (emergency) or 815-485-2500 (non-emergency). Working with the community is the best way for you to help us to stop crime. Remember “Lock it or Lose it!!” and if you “See (or hear) Something, Say Something”, and call the police.
