Police Charge Suspect in Connection to Car Burglaries

Police Seek Suspect Connected to Vehicle Burglaries

South Brunswick Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 26 year old Alexander Allen in connection to a recent attempted car burglary. Allen is the latest person identified in a rash of unlocked car burglaries in the Township throughout the summer. Allen is charged with attempting to break into a car on Deans Lane on September 3rd.  At 4:43am that morning a resident woke up when a sensor floodlight was activated in their driveway. The resident observed a heavyset male run from his driveway. Evidence Technician Officer Sean Roberts arrived a processed the Jeep that was parked in the driveway. Officer Roberts recovered evidence including a latent fingerprint from the vehicle. The latent fingerprint was submitted off to the New Jersey State Police Automated Finger Identification System Unit. That print was matched to Allen. He is charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary.

Chief Raymond Hayducka said, “We have been aggressive in pursuing all leads to track down the people who have targeted unlocked vehicles in the Township this summer. We have charged four suspects over the past month in connection to the burglaries. The suspects are not connected and appear to choose locations at random. They look for opportunities to strike unlocked vehicles of unsuspecting residents in the overnight hours. I want to thank the residents who have provided information and give credit to the excellent crime scene processing of Officer Roberts with the latest solved case.”

Police ask anyone with information on Allen’s whereabouts to contact South Brunswick Police at (732) 329-4646.
