Traffic Advisory – Bakers Basin Road Bridge over Shipetaukin Creek in Lawrence Township, Closure and Detour 
On September 10, 2018, Mercer County DOT commenced a bridge replacement project on Bakers Basin Road over the Shipetaukin Creek.
The work requires the full closure of Bakers Basin Road at the bridge location. The closure applies to all vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. Local traffic and motorists going to Lawrence Twp. Public Works, local businesses, or the D&R Canal Path will have access up to the closure location on either side, but will not be able to cross over the Shipetaukin Creek.
Detour routes have been posted. The detour route for Bakers Basin Rd eastbound is Route 1 North to Grover’s Mill Rd. to Quaker Bridge Rd. to Lawrence Station Rd. (trucks will be detoured to Young’s Rd). The detour route for Bakers Basin Rd westbound is Basin Rd to Bucknell Ave to Carnegie Rd to Route 1.
The closure is will remain in effect for approximately 120 days after the start of the project. Delays in the area are to be expected during this time. Please honor all posted temporary traffic control measures for your own safety and the safety of others.
