Press Release: Attempted Homicide Suspects Arrested

VICTIM: 51 year-old male, Milpitas resident
SUSPECT #1: Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos, 19 year-old male, Alviso resident
SUSPECT #2: Jose Ignacio Gonzalez, 20 year-old male, San Jose resident

On August 30, 2018, at approximately 3:30 A.M., Milpitas Police officers responded to the Jack in the Box, located at 1740 South Main Street, for a disturbance and vandalism inside the restaurant. Upon arrival, officers located a 51 year-old man suffering from a stab wound to the abdominal area. The man was transported to a hospital with serious injuries requiring medical treatment. Officers were able to locate several witnesses and evidence at the scene, which assisted with the identification of the suspect(s). Within several hours, Milpitas Police detectives were able to identify both Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos and Jose Ignacio Gonzalez, both San Jose residents, as the suspects involved in the attack. Detectives were able to obtain two no bail warrants for both Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos and Jose Ignacio Gonzalez for attempted homicide.

On Friday, August 31, 2018, at approximately 9:30 P.M., detectives observed Jose Ignacio Gonzalez leaving his San Jose home and took him into custody without incident. Gonzalez was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. On September 4, 2018, at approximately 8:50 P.M., Milpitas Police detectives, with assistance from the Santa Clara County Regional Auto Theft Task Force and the San Jose Police Department, located Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos at his home and he tried to flee. Cobos eventually surrendered and was arrested without incident. Osbaldo Alejandro Cobos was also booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
