On September 10, 2018 the Marion Police Department was made aware that Mary Pittman Mace that was involved in the crash on September 5th on North Main Street, had died due to the injuries she sustained that day. After the crash on September 5th Mrs. Mace had been transported and admitted into Mission Hospital (Asheville) in the Intensive Care Unit where she remained for several days.
Investigation into this crash continues, however no charges have be filed at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mrs. Mace during this tragic time.
