Single vehicle traffic collision occurs on Oak Glen Road south of Interstate 10

INCIDENT: Traffic Collision with Minor Injuries
LOCATION: Oak Glen Road south of Interstate 10, City of Yucaipa
DRIVER: Calvin Crowley, 60-Year-old Yucaipa resident
SUMMARY:
On Sunday, September 9th, at approximately 4:16 pm, deputies responded to a single vehicle traffic collision. The driver was identified as Calvin Crowley. Mr. Crowley was driving his 1956 Pontiac Wagon and exited east bound Interstate 10 at Oak Glen Road. The Pontiac suffered possible brake failure so Crowley down-shifted to try to stop. He turned south on Oak Glen Road to avoid other cars. As he turned he struck the south facing “Welcome to Yucaipa” monument sign in Oak Glen Road’s center median. The collision caused major damage to the Pontiac and the sign.
Crowley suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by AMR.
