Deputies arrest a career criminal following a short pursuit in a stolen vehicle

SUSPECT(S): Floyd Allen, age 39, transient Highland area

SUMMARY:
Deputies from the Highland Police Department were dispatched to an area to investigate the report of a stolen 2012, Ford F-150 pickup truck near E Highland Avenue and the State Highway 330. The pickup was reported stolen to the San Bernardino Police Department on Saturday.
The search moved to the east end of the city on Greenspot Road. Deputies located the stolen pickup truck on Greenspot Road near Weaver Street. The driver, Floyd Allen, was driving at a high-rate of speed. As the vehicle approached Palm Avenue and East 3rd Street, an attempt to stop the vehicle was made. Allen refused to stop for the sheriff's unit and a brief vehicle pursuit ensued. After going a short distance, Allen stopped the vehicle and surrendered to deputies. He was arrested without further incident.
Floyd Allen is currently on parole for assault with a deadly weapon and is considered a career criminal for possession of stolen property. He was booked at the Central Detention Center for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Failure to Yield, and Parole Violation.
