AUGUST 28TH

Residential Burglary – 400 block of Richmond St:
An officer reports between 0830 and 1900 hours, an unknown suspect cut the screen and entered the apartment via an open window. The suspect ransacked the apartment and took electronics, credit cards, and cash.

Warrant Arrest – Conlon Ave / BART Path:
At 2205 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 48-year-old male from Richmond on a Contra Costa County warrant stemming from a 2017 ECPD arrest. The male was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

AUGUST 29TH

Vandalism/Controlled Substances: Bank of America - 10422 San Pablo Ave:
At 0706 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject trying to pry open the ATM at Bank of America. Officers discovered a 29-year-old Richmond man was prying off the sign of the ATM, smearing them with soap, and defacing the screens. In addition to vandalism, the man was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Burglary- 400 block of Albemarle St.
An officer responded to the report of a shed being burglarized. Between 8/28/18 at 1300 hours to 8/29/18 at 1200 hours, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s shed which was located in the backyard and stole a black Magna brand mountain bike.

Robbery - Starbucks, 11861 San Pablo Ave:
At 1545 hours, an officer responded to the report of a robbery. The victim was at Starbucks using his laptop computer when S-1 grabbed the victim’s laptop and fled out the business. The victim chased S-1 to an awaiting getaway vehicle which was driven by S-2. S-3 was seated in the front passenger seat. S-1 got into the right rear passenger seat. The victim and S-1 got into a struggle over the laptop in the backseat and S-3 struck the victim several times in the face. The suspect vehicle fled, dragging the victim a short distance, and was last seen traveling southbound on San Pablo Ave.

Shoplifting – 11319 San Pablo Ave (Chevron):
At 1951 hrs, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the Chevron convenient store and took two beverages and unknown food items.

Shoplifting – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 2153 hrs, an officer responded to a shoplifting at CVS and located a 37-year-old male from Richmond walking east on Schmidt Ln towards the BART Path. The male was positively identified by an employee and was subsequently arrested. A search incident to arrest yielded more stolen property from other local retail stores. The male was transported to the ECPD for booking and was then released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 11900 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 0023 hrs, an officer recognized a 58-year-old male from Richmond walking near the Starbucks on San Pablo Ave. The male had an active Contra Costa County warrant for a probation violation and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Obstructing an Investigation – 11900 San Pablo Ave:
At 0423 hrs, an officer attempted to stop a 42-year-old male from Richmond for jaywalking and littering as he walked from the area of Baxter Creek Park towards Home Depot. The male walked away from the officer despite being ordered to stop. After the male was detained, he refused to provide his name and had no identification in his possession. The male was arrested after numerous attempts to get him to cooperate. The male was transported to the ECPD where he was identified, booked and released on a citation.

AUGUST 30TH

Attempted Shoplifting – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 1837 hrs, an officer reports an unknown subject was contacted by security in Walgreens while he was trying to walk out of the emergency exit with a basket full of household goods. The suspect abandoned the stolen property and then left the business.

Aug. 31

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1134 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and took a shoulder bag containing misc. property.

Auto Burglary – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1141 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a black suitcase containing misc. property.

Auto Burglary – 9800 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 1155 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a gym bag.
Domestic Violence – 3200 block of Santa Clara Avenue:
At 2205 hours, an officer responded to a call of domestic battery and located a female who had an injury to her face. The male half of the pair was gone from the residence prior to the officer arriving. Several days later the male was located, arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility after being interviewed.

Sep. 1

Vandalism, Drunk-in-Public - 10000 block of San Pablo Avenue:
At 1847 hours, an officer responded to a report of a man spray painting several areas to include the side of a business and a delivery truck. The officer arrested a 27-year-old El Cerrito man and later transported the man to Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Probation Violation – Knott Avenue / Kearney Street:
At 2310 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Richmond. Both men had methamphetamine in their possession, and both men were on County probation. The pair was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Drunk-in-Public, Warrant Arrest – 9937 San Pablo Avenue (Blue Moon Saloon):
At 0120 hours, officers were dispatched to a call of a fight at the business. Officers learned there was no fight, but they did locate a 25-year-old Albany man who was heavily intoxicated and failed to listen to the orders of several officers. The man also had a warrant for his arrest. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Sep. 2

Theft from Vehicle – 1700 block of Liberty St:
At 1001 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle via an unlocked door and removed property. The suspect then fled the area in an awaiting vehicle.

Warrant Arrest – Potrero Avenue / S. 56th Street:
At 0016 hours, an officer contacted a 41-year-old Richmond man who had a warrant for his arrest from an El Cerrito PD case. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Avenue / Ohio Street:
At 0107 hours, an officer contacted a 26-year-old Berkeley woman who was a warrant for her arrest. The woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
