On September 3, 2018, at 2:31 a.m. Deputy Loren Barchett conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2010 Mercury Milano at the intersection of US 41 and County Road 1025 South. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Barchett detected the odor of burnt Marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. At that point Deputy Barchett began a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in the driver 22 year old Rocky Rodgers of Evansville being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Rodger was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $1100 bond.

Assisting Deputy Barchett in his investigation was Deputy Ben Kiesel.
