Sheriff Richard J Behnke reports on 09/03/2018 at approximately 1548 hours deputies responded to a Personal Injury Accident which occurred on M-40 Hwy near Teasdale Lake St, Porter Township, Cass County Michigan. The initial investigation showed Ronnie Lee Haas, 57 of White Pigeon was driving his motorcycle with his wife Eskalene Kay Hass, 53 of White Pigeon riding passenger, when a large tree fell directly in front of them with branches landing on them. Both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle causing injuries. Both occupants were examined by SESPA Ambulance and Transported to Elkhart General Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Helmets were worn and alcohol/ drugs are not believed to be related to this crash. Deputies were assisted by SESPA Ambulance and Porter Township Fire Department.
