 On 09/02/18 just after midnight, Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on the 9000 block of Grapewood Ave. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a male adult, later identified as 28 year-old Isiah Willis of Cal City, standing next to his vehicle. Officers found what appeared to be a firearm in his vehicle. Officers detained Willis and conducted a search of his vehicle. During the search, Officers found a backpack that contained 5 bottles of butane, marijuana, two digital scales, a methamphetamine pipe and 20 grams of methamphetamine.
     Willis was placed under arrest and was transported to the police station for booking. While doing so, Willis admitted that he had found the backpack and was going to use the marijuana and butane to extract concentrated cannabis from the marijuana. The firearm was found to be a pellet gun and appears to look like a real firearm.
     Willis was later transported to the Central Receiving Facility and charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
     The California City Police Department would like to advise that manufacturing concentrated cannabis is illegal and a felony in the State of California. Extracting concentrated cannabis is extremely combustible and a very dangerous process. The California City Police Department highly recommends that no one participates in the extraction of concentrated cannabis.
