*****UPDATE***** The railroad crossings at both intersections have been repaired. All roads are now open.*****

The railroad crossing arms on Thornton Ave (Near Sycamore St), and Mayhews Landing Rd (Near Haley St), are malfunctioning and causing closures of both roadways. PLEASE do not attempt to drive through the crossing arms. Union Pacific Railroad employees are currently working on the problem. This may cause traffic delays during the commute hours so motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes. The Newark Police Department will provide an update as soon as one is available.
