Residents have reported receiving calls from someone using the City of Sunnyvale’s main phone number (408-730-7500) and utility billing number (408-730-7400) to solicit personal information or sell solar panels.
These calls are typically occurring in the evening and after the City’s regular business hours. These are “spoof” callers who use numbers from legitimate agencies or companies in an attempt to deceive people and gather information.
The City is not making these calls and unfortunately we cannot block them because they come from an unknown location. If you receive a call like this, ignore it and, more importantly, do not provide any personal information. If you block the number, please be aware that you are blocking the City’s legitimate main and utility phone lines.
