On Wednesday 08/29/18 at approximately 1:30 p.m., our officers were dispatched to the Bank of America on Mission Street on the report of a bank robbery. The suspect entered the bank and passed a note stating he had an explosive device and it would be used if he was not given money. After not receiving any money, the suspect fled the bank and attempted to forcibly carjack a nearby motorist. After that attempt was unsuccessful, the suspect fled the area on foot and was located by officers a short time later several blocks away. The suspect, a 43-year old Rio Vista resident, was booked into the San Mateo County jail for various charges including bank robbery.
