The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a
* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for... Central St. Tammany Parish in southeastern Louisiana... East central Tangipahoa Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
* Until noon CDT.
* At 1100 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in less than an hour.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Slidell, Covington, Pearl River, Abita Springs, Lacombe and Slidell Airport.
* AFFECTED AREAS: TANGIPAHOA, LA ... ST. TAMMANY, LA
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
