Large home under construction catches fire in Desert Mtn area. Under control, no injuries. Cause and damage TBD. 
At 5:30 p.m., SFD responded to a reported house fire in the 9900 block of East Sterling Ridge Road in Scottsdale. This is in the far northern section of Scottsdale in the Desert Mountain Community. Crews arriving on the scene found a large, residential structure under construction fully involved in flames.
Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire but the structure is a complete loss. Crews will remain on the scene for an extended period of time checking for hot spots and overhauling the structure. There have been no firefighter or civilian injuries reported. A cause and/or damage estimate was not immediately available.
UPDATE - June 30, 2009
The fire destroyed a 12,000-square-foot residence under construction. The building was 70 to 80 percent complete. The fire was determined to be accidental and related to construction activities. The damage is estimated at 3.5 million.
