A Heat Advisory will be in effect through Wednesday, As a result the North Brunswick Cooling Centers will be open, today, Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 90's today and mid to upper 90's for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Office of Emergency Management advises residents that the North Brunswick Library (880 Hermann Road) and the North Brunswick Senior Center (15 Linwood Place) have been designated as cooling centers.
The following are hours for the Library:
Monday - Wednesday 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
The Senior Center hours are:
Monday - Wednesday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Please take it easy if working outdoors, drink plenty of water and seek shade when possible. Wear light weight clothing. Never leave people or pets in a closed car. Also, check on family members and neighbors.
Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by the heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency..... call 9-1-1.
