Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that his deputies responded to a one car crash at the intersection of Grange and Five Points, Mason Township, Cass County, Michigan on 08/26/18 at 12:32 hours. 47 year old Stephanie Akers of Elkhart, Indiana was northbound on Five Points Rd approaching Grange St. Akers did not observe the stop sign at the corner and ran through it striking a tree. Akers was transported to Elkhart General Hospital by Porter Ambulance. Seatbelts were worn. A medical issue appeared to be a factor in this crash. This case remains under investigation.
