Deputies Arrest Man Connected To A String Of Armed Robberies.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 1 deputies have arrested and charged a suspect who was responsible for at least 6 aggravated robberies in north Harris County in the last three weeks.

Deputies say that Kenneth Darrell Tillman, 36, was arrested at a Stripes Gas Mart in the 14800 block of the North Freeway, after his get away vehicle was located on Monday August 20, 2108.

Tillman had robbed the Best Western Plus Hotel in the 200 block of Greens Landing around 3:30 a.m. that morning.

The clerk told investigators Tillman entered the office asking for the price of a room.

He then pulled a pistol from his waistband and demanded the money from the cash drawer.

Tillman then fled on foot away from the hotel. One witness was able to write down the license plate of the vehicle he was driving.

A brief description of Tillman and his clothing were broadcast to deputies in the area.

While deputies were searching the area, the vehicle matching the description was observed parked at the store.

Deputies waited for him to leave, and he was detained without incident.

A search of the vehicle revealed the clothing he was wearing during the robbery, and a handgun believed used in the string of robberies was also recovered.

Investigators now say that complainants in 5 other aggravated robberies all described the same distinctive black colored beanie, black t-shirt and black colored shorts or gray sweat pants he wore during the robberies.

Tillman would also wear black frame reading glasses to disguise his appearance.

He now is charged with 6 counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, felon in possession and is being held under a no bond in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
