August 14

Auto Burglary – 3070 EC Plaza:
At 0808 hours, officers responded to the report of a vehicle being broken into. Upon arrival, the officer learned that two unidentified suspects shattered the window of a Subaru and stole a purse.

Auto Burglary - 1100 block of Liberty St:
At 0917 hours, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. Upon arrival the officer learned an unknown suspect broke the window of a Dodge Journey and stole property sometime overnight.

Residential Burglary – 7600 block of Stockton Ave:
At 1008 hours, an officer responded to the report of a residential burglary which occurred between 0845 and 0920 hours. Upon arrival, the officer learned that an unidentified suspect forced entry via the rear window, ransacked the interior but did not take any property.

Grand Theft – 4010 EC Plaza (AT&T):
At 1952 hours, an officer reports the theft of several cellular phones from the AT&T store. The two unidentified adult male suspects were last seen fleeing on foot towards Rubio’s.

Stolen Vehicle– 5010 EC Plaza (Rubio’s):
At 2134 hours, an officer reports the theft of a vehicle which was parked in the lot behind the restaurant. The theft occurred sometime between 1500 and 2100 hours.

August 15

Vehicle Pursuit - Central Ave. / Carlson Blvd.
At 0743 hours, an officer attempted to stop a white BMW X3 which was used as a get-away vehicle in several auto burglaries in EC and Richmond. A pursuit was initiated but canceled due to speed and concerns for public safety.

Auto Burglary – 7700 block of Terrace Dr:
Shortly after the above-listed pursuit, an officer responded to the report of an auto burglary. An unidentified suspect smashed the window of a white Toyota Tacoma and stole property sometime during the morning.

Battery - Denny’s - 11344 San Pablo Ave:
At 1330 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject fighting with customers, eating their food, and assaulting the staff. Officers located the suspect fleeing in the parking lot. A 29-year-old Oakland man was located, placed under citizen’s arrest, and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest - Pierce St./ Central Ave:
At 1610 hours, an officer spotted a 28-year-old transient who was wanted on a felony ECPD auto theft warrant. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Disturbing the Peace – 11344 San Pablo Ave (Denny’s):
At 0035 hours, an officer reports an unidentified adult male got into an argument with a 19-year-old El Cerrito woman after he asked her to quiet down. The woman responded by standing at the adult male’s table and recording him on her cell phone while threatening to call the police. A food fight ensued, and both were asked to leave the restaurant by employees. The adult male left before police arrival and was not located.

Auto Burglary – 1200 Block of Contra Costa Ave:
At 2149 hours, an officer reported the victim’s work truck was burglarized around 2128 hours by an unknown suspect who broke the left rear passenger window.

Commercial Burglary / Probation Violation – 670 EC Plaza (CVS):
At 2238 hours, officers responded to CVS for a theft being committed by a suspect known to store management. Officers contacted the 37-year-old male transient as he was walking away from the store with stolen property. The male was booked at ECPD and released on a citation.

Warrant Arrest – 10900 Block of San Pablo Ave:
At 2343 hours, an officer contacted a 41-year-old transient man who was found to have two warrants for his arrest. The male was arrested, booked at ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

August 16

Warrant Arrest – Blake St / Kearney Ave:
At 0241 hours, an officer recognized a 29-year-old transient male as a wanted person and detained him. The male had a warrant from a previous ECPD case for failing to appear in court. The male was booked at ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 1100 Block of Richmond St:
At 1808 hours, an officer responded to a residential burglary which occurred within the last 30 minutes. The homeowner reported coming home to their front door open and the upstairs ransacked. The loss was money and personal documents.

Vandalism – 10057 San Pablo Ave (Ace Hardware):
At 1917 hours, an officer was flagged down in the back lot of the ECPD by a victim who claimed his vehicle had been vandalized while parked in the lot at Ace Hardware. When the victim returned, he found a dent in his front left fender which he felt was an intentional act.

Warrant Arrest / Drugs / Restraining Order Violation – Avila Pl / Carlson Blvd:
At 0104 hours, an officer contacted two people sleeping in their vehicle at the dead end of Avila Pl. A 49-year-old male from El Cerrito was found to be a restrained party in a criminal protective order. The protected party, a 26-year-old female from El Cerrito, was present in the vehicle with him. The female was wanted on a warrant out of Oakland. Both were arrested and booked at ECPD. The male was found to be in possession of suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia. The female was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility, and the male was released on a citation.

August 17

Grand Theft and Elder Abuse – 225 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1206, an officer responded to a report of an elderly woman being the victim of a “pigeon drop.” The victim’s concerned son reported the incident. The suspect approached the victim in the El Cerrito Plaza and convinced her to give her $15,000. The suspect re-contacted the victim and agreed to meet her at Denny’s. Officers set up surveillance and were able to arrest the suspect, a 23-year-old female. The female was identified as the suspect and still had the bank bag from the first contact. The woman was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest and Obstruction – Kearney Street and Blake Street:
During the above-listed elder abuse investigation, officers noticed a male behaving suspiciously. Officers contacted the male who immediately took off running. The male was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. During booking, it was discovered the male had a warrant for his arrest from San Francisco. The male was booked and taken to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – Madison Ave / San Pablo Ave:
At 2042 hours, an officer arrested a 24-year-old Stockton woman on a San Jose PD warrant. The woman was issued a citation and released in the field.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Cutting Blvd / Peerless Ave:
At 2121 hours, an officer arrested a 27-year-old San Pablo man who was in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The man was issued a citation and released in the field.

Warrant Arrest, Obstruct Police Investigation, Probation Violation – 5920 Cutting Blvd (Jack in the Box):
At 0036 hours, an officer contacted a 33-year-old Richmond woman and arrested her on a Mendocino County warrant. While dealing with the arrest, a 23-year-old Richmond woman approached the officers and refused the leave. The woman threatened to assault the officers and was arrested for obstructing the investigation. The 33-year-old Richmond woman was released from the police department with a citation. The 23-year-old Richmond woman was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 0232 hours, an officer contacted a 27-year-old San Pablo man and arrested him for being in possession of methamphetamine. This was the same man arrested earlier in the evening for being in possession of methamphetamine. The man was issued a citation and released in the field.

August 18

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Kearney Street:
At 1916 hours, an officer reported that an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked home and stole a purse. Credit cards inside the purse were later used to make unauthorized purchases. The burglary occurred between 1530 and 1600 hours.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / MacDonald Ave:
At 1922 hours, an officer contacted a 25-year-old Antioch man and arrested him on an Antioch PD warrant. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Possession of Controlled Substance, Probation Violation, Court Order Violation, Driving on Suspended License – 2000 block of Key Blvd:
At 2132 hours, an officer arrested a 54-year-old transient man who was in possession of methamphetamine and in violation of the terms of his probation. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

August 19

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave and Carlson Blvd:
At 1159 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 31-year-old male for two outstanding warrants. The male was booked and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2034 hours, an officer contacted a 22-year-old Oakland woman and arrested her on an El Cerrito PD warrant. The woman was released from the scene with a citation.

DUI, Assault Law Enforcement Officer, Obstruct Police Investigation – 10602 San Pablo Ave (Exxon):
At 2151 hours, ECPD officers were notified of a possible DUI driver traveling north on San Pablo Avenue from Albany. Officers located the 30-year-old woman from Utah and determined she had been driving under the influence. The woman was arrested and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2314 hours, an officer contacted a 39-year-old El Cerrito man during a traffic stop and arrested him for DUI. The man was later released from the El Cerrito Police Department with a citation.
