We have had three burglaries to unoccupied homes in the Portola Valley area over the past few days. They occurred in the areas of 600 Westridge Dr., 100 Degas Rd. & 100 Ash Ln. Two of these instances happened in the evening.  Investigators believe that the suspects knocked on the victim’s doors to confirm no one was home prior to burglarizing the houses as this is a very common tactic of residential burglars. The Sheriff’s Office does have leads that we are actively following up on. In the meantime, if you see anyone or anything suspicious please call 911 or the non-emergency number @ 650-363-4911. If someone comes to your house unexpectedly or without legitimate business, they should be considered suspicious and we encourage you to call the Sheriff’s Office. Video surveillance footage, photos, and good descriptions of suspects and any associated vehicles are very helpful. Anyone with suspect info regarding the burglaries is encouraged to call Det.
