Advisory

Overnight burglaries and entries to unlocked vehicles.

During the early morning of Sunday, August 19 at 3:56 AM Whitefish Bay Officers investigated a burglary that had just occurred to a residence in the 5200 block of N Berkeley Blvd. The actor(s) gained access inside by cutting a screen on the first floor of the home. A garage door opener was stolen that gave the actor(s) access to the vehicles in the garage. The vehicles were rummaged through by the actor(s).

The homeowner observed the actors leave the area in a gray, Honda Odyssey minivan that had very recently been stolen from a residence in the Village of Shorewood in a similar style burglary.

Sometime between midnight and 6:00 AM on 8/19 a burglary occurred in the 5200 block of N Diversey Blvd where a screen on a porch was cut and a TV was stolen.

A residence in the 5300 block of N Shoreland Ave was also entered during the same time frame through an unlocked or open door. A purse and laptop computer were taken.

Multiple unlocked vehicles were entered in the areas of the 400 - 700 blocks of E Henry Clay Street.

The Whitefish Bay Police Department reminds you to lock your vehicles and your homes during the overnight hours. Simple acts of prevention can prevent these property crimes.
