Newark Police Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Body Worn Camera Theft Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is seeking the public’s help identifying the below pictured suspect who is being sought for the theft of a Newark Police officer’s body worn camera yesterday.
Shortly before 4 p.m., an officer’s body worn camera was stolen after it was pushed off the officer’s vest in the 900-block of Bergen Street. After taking the body worn camera, the suspect fled north on Bergen Street. He is described as having long dread locs that were covered with a black scarf. He was also wearing a burgundy shirt, black jeans, light-colored footwear and was carrying a black backpack.
