Temperatures will rise into the lower 90s today and tomorrow with an expected heat index of 95-100. The heat index for Friday is expected to be 100 - 105.
The Office of Emergency Management advises residents that the North Brunswick Library (880 Hermann Road) and the North Brunswick Senior Center (15 Linwood Place) have been designated as cooling centers. The following are the hours for the Library: Wednesday - Friday 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM
The Senior Center will be open Wednesday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00
PM.
Please take it easy when working outdoors, Drink plenty of water and seek shade when possible. Wear lightweight clothing. Never leave people or pets in a closed car. Also, check on family members and neighbors. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by the heat should be moved to a cool shaded location.
